I think it goes to how you define each term.
I can't think of a good definition of a momma's boy. It's just a guy who doesn't know when to cut the umbilical cord. It denotes a lack of independence.
Guys can love and do stuff for/with their Moms (hell, mine taught me to knit), but not be that 'momma's boy'.
Daddy's girl for me is of two types.. there's the pampered princess who gets the Porsche, the diamond ear-rings, the trips, who pouts and gets her way. Forget her.
The other Daddy's girl is a gal who likes hanging with dad, may not be a tom-boy, but appreciates things more commonly thought (not true... but) 'masculine' like mechanics, fishing, rough-housing etc. She's usually a little more independent and has better insight to guys because she hangs out with dad. That is a cool Daddy's girl.

Daddy's give their daughters the feelings of worth all girls need. But moms do not impart the manly aspects of life to their sons. So it comes out lopsided. Shows how much children need fathers.

Well I don't have a son but my sister does & she feels that boys have to grow up to be independent men whereas girls should be taken cared of. But yet she also wants it the other way where her boys will only marry girls she likes. I disagree with her because I think girls should be independent too

It's ok to be a mummy's boy,I think its fine,as long as she is not still making your Doctor appointments for you at the age of 54......That's my brother......Mummy's Lil boy.!!

personally i have nothing against a mommys boy as long as its not over kill...but i guess it cause men r suppose to b strong n women not so much so i guess they see it as ok if a girl is protected or catered 2 by their father but wierd if its the mother caterin 2 her son cause then the rolse would be reversed makin the boy weak.

Good Question !!!! If a son really loves his mother ( as it should be ) and get along with her really well he is considered a mama's boy !!! And guess what sex started calling them that. The wives and girlfriends !!! The witches !!!!

i totally hate hearing that being a mamms boy is so bad. my bf is and i totally love it. we spend so much time with his mom. she also spoiles our kids and is the most crafty women i know. both of our kids (boy and a girl) love their daddy and want to spend as much time with him as they can
