John Lee Hooker, is it time for his life story to hit the big screen? A most influential African American musician, He created a templet for many of the guitar stars, and rock bands that followed. If it's time for his story, then who should get the role, Samuel L. Jackson, or Dave Chappelle? Any other sugestions for the lead?

No not Denzell, not this time. Mr Hooker is kinda skinney and has a gravely voice, Chappelle is built more like him ( you know kingda gangly lookin')

The reason for this question is obvious I like rock and the blues, and if you want a proper picture of this influence in history you have to go back to the inovators. John Lee was before Elvis, and Mick Jagger, and the Boss, and John Lennon, and Eric, and Chuck Berry (well maybe contemporaries there). Hooker is a great blues man, and he had a great influence on the great guitar players of the day, for the past 20 to 30 years. Any man that has a legacy like that deserves a story, maybe a movie.

JstBob, I commend you for steping outside of the box here with your question in a room full of people who have no idea who J.L.H is.
My answer is: None of the above. I would say Mos Def or I think it would be a great time to usher in some new Black talent, perhapps from the south. I'll even go one step further, the movie could be filmed in or around the Mississippi / Louisiana area. Prceeds can go to the still struggeling victims of Katrina, becuase it is still an issue that we may no longer realize.

I would watch that movie. As far as the lead actor, I don't think Samuel L. Jackson could do it, David Chappelle, maybe. Possibly Eddie Murphy, he has some musical background and has grown as an actor. I think Mos Def might do well.

Since he is from Mississippi, why not call it Southern Disco. I believe that Samuel Jackson would fit the part better because they sort of favor. Being a baby-boomer I have had a chance to hear some of his songs that he wrote and promoted.

How about Denzel Washington? He's a great actor and I think he'd do a fine job at portraying Hooker.
