Generally, yes it is safe. However, it really depends on the technician's skill level & experience.

Be sure to wear sunscreen afterwards & avoid exposure to the sun as glycolic acid peels leave the skin vulnerable to sun burn which can lead to hyperpigmentation.

This is why so many people end up w/broken capillaries, (littel tiny varicose facial veins). If you're young and don't suffer with many wrinkles and you're probably just looking for a whitening result, try the facial cleansers like Aveenos and the brightening facial moisturizers. There's many products out there that have brightening ingredients and are not as harsh as the glycolic acid peel. It does give you a baby skin effect and it will get you hooked, which means you will end up going for more procedures and you will end up like my friend. She had tons of broken capillaries and little whitehead looking things called milia. If you still decide to do it make sure not to expose to the sun and use spf even if indoors. Most people decide to do this during the winter do to the sensitivity to the sun. Good Luck!!!

Always make sure they know their own product. All spa treatments are only as safe as the knowledge of the operator. By law, no spa treatment can penatrate deeper then upper layers of skin. If you are concerned about the product itself? Ask for a patch test. It's free and it's harmless. If you have a reaction it will be in a tiny spot where it won't be seen. That way you can relax and feel good about the treatment you're receiving.

Good Luck!

The results last about 2 weeks, at least for me. It's safe. They're professionals.

While it is safe, if you need something a bit stronger your dermatologist is a better bet.
