At least so far, that is the name chosen...with 5 more weeks to go. Other names that I like that my hubby has nixed are:
Micah and Chandler. Hubby likes familiar classic names, i like old, unique names that don't belong to every other kid in the classroom. Any ideas...so far i can't best the name that we have chosen. What do you think?

Frankly, I don't like Lane. It sounds just a trifle feminine to me. As for Emmanuel, it is nice that you're naming him after his great grandpa (and Jesus, for that matter- they call him Emmanuel a bunch around Christmas time.) He'll probably hate it, though, because kids are hard-wired to hate their middle names, so don't be offended if he refuses to tell people what his middle name is.

I think Micah is a cool name, but everyone will think he's saying Michael. As for Chandler, I just keep thinking of Chandler on Friends, and he was kind of a tool.

Here are some names you might like:
Elias
Oliver
Tobias
Colin
Gregory
Heath

Don't call him Emmanuel for a first name whatever you do- they'll shorten it to Manny, which is a fine name, but keep in mind that my bulldog's name is Manny. : )

I like it. I like Micah Emmanuel too. Chandler is a great name too, but not with Emmanuel. Maybe Chandler Micah or Chandler Lane?

Either way I don't think your son will have bunches of other kids in his school class with the same name.

Lane is alright. I have an Ian and a William. I generally like old names too or things that not every kid is named. Unfortunatly Ian gained popularity right as our Ian was born. William, however, is not all over the place anymore.

I like Micah!

I like that better than your other choices. With Emmanuel as the middle name. If the kid doesn't like it, he can always use just the middle initial in later life.

I have an unusual name, and have always hated the fact that other people have teased me all of my life. So, I agree with your husband's ideas.

I am a HUGE fan of the name your choose... It's very cute and it has meaning... I think I would go with it, if it is something that you both agree on and feel good about
