Actually they did BUT they did not do it alone. A huge amount of what they got in supplies ,Everything down to the famous T47 tank (which was designed by an American) they got supply wise from the US. The US and the UK were just as much a part of the Europe being saved from facism. Unfortunately the SOVIETS saved europe from facism to replace it with communism in at least half of Europe so wether it was actually anything better is a matter to discuss. Facism is just as evil as Communism and no in todays day and age we have islamic facist as the danger. one goes another one pops up. The Russians (soviets) can however justifly say what we supplied in material they supplied in lives and by their using more of their soldiers save western soldiers on the other front.

World War Two was a combined effort. There is absolutely no doubt that the USSR suffered more than any other nation during World War Two, its losses totaled about 21 million. And it was their army that overran Nazi Germany. The claim is not without merit. It is unfortunate (to say the least) that Stalin imposed his own brand of police state totalitarianism on Eastern Europe after the War, but as bad as it was, there were no organized extermination death camps. The Russian claim is historically accurate, but the victory was the product of joint Allied effort.

Yes we did. Of course it was a joint effort and blah, blah, blah. But at the end of the day, the West paid for that war with money, while we paid for it with blood.
