invisible like....you can't see it. I saw one, one day, and it was fast. Faster than blinking. Its true. Can't get any astronomers to verify this though. Kinda like when you see a falling star in the sky, but so much faster, and immobile.

The closest star is the sun, 93,000,000 mile away. It disappears every night and returns every morning.

The second closest star , Proxima Centauri, is 4 light years away and is only visible in the Southern Hemisphere.

Stars do not just disappear. Please get your eyes checked as soon as you can.

The nearest star is the sun, 93 million miles away. Next is Proxima Centauri, a red dwarf that is part of the Alpha Centauri triple star system, about 4.3 light years away.

Stars don't just disappear. If you're talking about seeing one vanish into the morning twilight, this is a gradual process, but what often happens is that you lose it momentarily and can't find it again. Finding a star in a bright sky requires that your eyes are focused and centered precisely on the star. It's difficult to get that focus right when there are no other features to focus on. Centering is important too because you often need the star to be in the sharp part of your vision (the fovea) before you can see it.

I assume you are asking about the nearest star that is not our own, The Sun.

Alpha Centauri is the closest star system to our own solar system at 4.37 light-years distant (about 41.5 trillion km, 25.8 trillion miles or 277,600 AU). The closest star is the red dwarf, Proxima Centauri at 4.22 light years away.

Stars don't just disappear. Without a telescope it's hard to tell one speck of light from another. You might have seen an airplane or a satellite.

Do not confuse stars with shooting stars . The shooting stars is just rocks being evaporated by the heat of our atmosphere. Normally just a quick flash and it is gone.
