Cantilation (Mahlet )
Mahlet is church music appropriate to the spirit of her services adapting it to the nature of the religious function. Mahlet is a Geez word which has the meaning of praise of God with musical instruments.
Ethiopian Orthodox Church (EOC ) practices all forms of prayers: prayer of praise, prayer of Thanksgiving ,prayer of petition, prayer of intercession, prayer of penitence and meditation in her Liturgy, Horologium and Cantilation and teaches her followers to have this practice.
I've looked at almost 10 baby name meaning sites and none have the name Mahlet. I've come to the conclusion that it's a prayer in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

Rule of thumb... if you have to ask someone for the pronunciation, don't use it for your child. Imagine what THEY'LL have to go through as an adult.
