I'm sorry that the bird is dead. I'm also sorry that you are looking for this to be a 'bad omen' ... because if you 'think' it is a bad omen, then you will naturally see that whatever 'bad thing' happens next was 'foretold' by the bird flying into your window and dying. It doesn't mean that it 'IS' a bad omen, only that your 'imaginative mind' is making the 'tenuous connection' between the bird dying and the 'bad thing' that is bound to happen sooner or later.
I am 'very wary' that 'bad things' come in threes' but I 'know' that is 'silly' and I have taught myself to look for 'good omens' instead of bad ones. The other day, I had to go out to take care of a long overdue bill (we kept forgetting about it) ... but right after I went out, I looked up and saw a Bald Eagle flying overhead. We live in a large city, and don't see Bald Eagles every day ... so I took that as my 'good omen' ... and paying the bill didn't 'hurt so much' ... and then two more 'good things' happened right after, too. So, not only do 'bad things' come in threes, but so do 'good things' ... in fact, they can come in ANY NUMBER and be 'counted' that way, because it's not the actual number, but the way we 'file them' in our minds. So ... I hope you picked up and disposed of the bird's body properly (actually, around here, we are supposed to put it into a plastic bag and put it into the trash if it is an animal weighing less than 10 pounds, and we should take it to a vet for 'proper disposal' if it's an animal weighing over 10 pounds ... 'burial' in your yard is a 'criminal act' because dead animals can cause 'diseases' even if they were 'healthy' when they were alive), and you should just 'mourn a little' for the loss of that tiny life, and then go on with your day, and your life, as if nothing 'really bad' happened or has been foretold.

this is a common occurrence during the change in season especially from spring to summer. I believe it is inexperienced birds. Anyway, "The meaning of your dreams" by Franklin Di Martini says: It is a favorable omen to dream of birds. If their plumage is beautiful, a wealthy and happy partner will be yours,. To see birds flying, denotes prosperity to the dreamer. To catch birds, is a good omen. To hear them speak, denotes a work assignment which requires much caution. To kill birds, tells of misfortune. that's all he says about it. I know it wasn't a dream. I can't say what omen this means for good or bad but the same thing happen to me and my child as we were walking home, however a new building had been erected and the glass was new and shiney, coupled with the area was dense with trees and the sky light was reflected in the window and it was that change of season from spring to summer, so I really cant say what it might mean. Pray for your dad prior to,during and after.

My grand father was dying of cancer and we'd done all we could do so we were sitting at home and a few hours later a bird slammed into the window and died, minutes later we got a phone call from the hospital saying that grand dad had passed away. So now anytime a see a bird hit the window I get a little tense. But it could just be that the bird thought it could fly through. Have you ever walked into a screen door thinking it was open but it was really closed?

It indicates two things. Your windows are too clean and are causing birds to fly into them. It is also a bad omen but just for that bird.

Bad omen? No, just bad eyesight and depth perception by the unlucky bird that hit your window!

OMG, instead of feeling sorry for the dead bird you're worried about some non-existent "omen"...

If it hit from outside to an outside window, no.

From inside the house, yes.

Only if you think it is. Birds usually hit windows because they can't see them.
