This will be my third interveiw with the company. I have had to meet many people. I think this is the last.

I am concerned that they are going to make an offer lower than I can accept. Can you suggest any ways to negotiate and when you bring it up.

Interesting salary has not come up and this will be your third interview. By now someone should have asked you what salary are you looking for. When the salary issue comes up and they lay an offer on a table be up front. Repeat your work background and what you can offer to the company. As such, you are actually seeking (whatever amount.) If during this third interview they still have not brought up salary again be upfront. State this is my third interview and I appreciate the time you have extended to me and have very much enjoyed meeting with everyone. However, I would like to inquire what is the salary you are looking to pay for this position?

Before you go into the interview, you need to figure out what you need to survive each month (what all of your expenses are). Then tack on how much you would like to save. Lastly how much you would need to have for play (within reason). Add those together and make that your base salary. The least you could take. You also need to look on websites such as salary.com to see what your job skills are worth in your area of the country. If they ask "What kind of pay do you expect?" make sure you say "I know my skills are worth and it is X amount (should be higher than your base), but of course we can negotiate". That way you dont feel like you are over shooting them. Research is the key though. If they offer you lower, then you can say that you did your research and that nobody at your level is making that less and you'll have to pass.

Research what other companies pay for that same job and just say "Well I have researched this position and I think I know the salary range, tell me if it is possible to start my salary around X and to be at Y in a couple of years."

If they offer you lower you can ask them why their offer is slightly lower then average and let them know you would need to think about it since its below what you expected.

It's best to wait until you get the offer, then if it's lower than you're willing to take, tell them you really would like to take the job, you're very impressed by the company, the people, and the opportunity, but you don't feel that you can take a salary lower than nnnnn.
