Yes! If you ever travel down south you will have folks wave and say hi...even though they don't know you...we are just more laid back and friendly. Plus...everyone is a stranger til you meet, so all that's left is how ya get ya a new buddy.
ya see a friend will bail ya out of jail.....a good friend will be sitting next to ya saying Damn that was fun!!

Yes, a LOT...especially since I need glasses now! I actually thought a dog was stuck in a bush and it was a plastic bag!! Once a man punched me in the arm cause he thought I was DOLORES and I'm not...then my daughter said, c'mon Dolores and we laughed. I just pretend I'm not waving to them...but when it's someone you kinda know and you think it's a friend and you wave REAL friendly I think that's the most embarrassing.

Yep! I've done that a few times. But here's a story along the same lines...My hubby and I were at opposite ends of an olympic sized pool. I was talking to him as I swam closer and at a fairly close distance, I realized I was talking to a stranger and my hubby was under the surface swimming to me from another direction! I can't see beans without my glasses!

I do that all the time. Someone will wave at me and I cant recognize them at all but if I don't wave it will seem like I am being rude. So I wave and I wonder who they are.

Unfortunatly I have found myself waving at the same person more than once thinking they were someone else. And each time I take a couple of seconds and assure myself that it is really who I think it is.

Ya it's happened to me before. But it's still friendly to wave to someone. Though it's sort of embarrassing because the other person has no idea what you're doing!

Once in high school I tapped a girl on the shoulder and said hi. She looked at me like I was nuts.
Turns out she was the younger sister of a friend of mine. They so looked alike from the back/side that I thought they were the same person.
I was so embarassed, but I never saw her again.

Hahaha! Yes! This actually happened last week. I was at the grocery store and thought I'd recognized a friend, and actually waved at them, and said, "Hey! How are you?" and when I got up closer to the woman, she was looking at me like I'd lost my mind. (guess I did) VERY embarrassing. Another reason to get Lasik.

I saw a guy across the street that I thought I recognized, so I waved and he waved back. I crossed over to see him, but I was halfway across the road before I realized it was my reflection in a shop window.

Yes.
I think pretty much everyone has.
When that happens to me, I just smile and act like I'm just being friendly.
After all, that is what I was doing...being friendly...just so happens to be that I originally thought I was being friendly to someone I knew rather than a stranger.
It's a little bit embarrassing, but just a part of life!
