I am 10 weeks pregnant, when will i be able to find out the sex of my baby??

why do i feel weird twinges in my lower abdomen?

You can sometimes find out as early as 17 weeks. Most of the time though, docs want to wait till 20-22 weeks. The twinges are probably your ligaments streching and your uterus streching. completely normal!

Usually between 18 and 22 weeks is the best time for an ultrasound and if the baby is in the right position you can find out the sex of your baby. The twinges in your abdomen are normal..I had those with every single one of my pregnancies..its like pelvic pain which is your uterus expanding to now fit a growing fetus inside it!!

It all depends on the woman and the growth of the child. I would say anywhere between 15-20 weeks. But sometimes a child can develop quicker than most that's why you can find out earlier, and the same goes for one that develops slowly. With me for both of my kids I played it safe and waited till I was 18 weeks because I wanted to be sure. Also the twinges in your lower abdomen could be gas, but it could be the baby. You may be a fortunate one to feel it early :) But most likely it's gas. Most people say when you first start to feel the baby move it feels like butterflies in your stomach. To me with both of my kids it actually hurt so I guess the saying does not apply to everyone. Hope this helps, and congrats and good luck on your pregnancy.

You will find out if its a boy or girl in 10-11 more weeks, which is 20-21 weeks pregnant...I find out this monday, Im so excited!
Well its kinda hard to know what you mean by twinges, but it could be cramps. Dont worry, it's normal as long as your not bleeding.

Around 20 weeks the sex can be seen with an ultrasound if the baby will cooperate (sometimes they wont open thier legs, sometimes the ambillical cord is between them).

The twinges your feeling are probably your round ligaments stretching. It's perfectly normal, your body has to stretch to accomodate your baby.

I found out I am having a boy at 16weeks through the sonogram. That's about the earliest you can find out since the baby is very small and not fully developed.

However, if you have an amniocentisis done ... they can tell you because that is the child's DNA. Getting an amnio just to find out the sex early is not wise though. there is a risk of miscarriage. If there are other valid medical reasons for an amnio then just mention that you'd like to know the sex while their at it. Otherwise, just hold on a little longer and you'll know your baby's sex.

you will probably have an ultrasound between 16-20 weeks, they can tel you then.

twinges are growing pains, not the baby. you may feel movement as soon as 12-13 weeks, but most women don't feel it until 16+ weeks.

finding out the sex of the baby probably won't happen until the 2nd ultra sound around 22 wks, twinges, kind of like bubbles?? Baby moving, could be muscles expanding and moving could be alot of things.
check with your doctor to make sure though

I think finding out is the best thing :) did that with both my kids. You're usually about 20 wks b4 you find out. how often do the twinges happen? could be just that, twinges.

generally OBs do an ultrasound between 20 to 24 weeks to determine gender.
They can also determine gender through amniocentesis. but they will no do that unless your at high risk for genetic defects.
The weird twinges are round ligament pains from your uterus expanding.
