Do you seriously think that politicians do the will of the people??? Every time I have done my duty and written to a congressman about my thoughts , they send back a note about how they will be voting the other way, completely ignoring any rational reasons that I give. I don't believe that they vote the will of the people, only what they want.

We vote for them initially, but politicians lie and play the game to get votes, so we never really know what they stand for , if anything. Bush was voted in by the people too, remember, twice. Can't we also assume on your line of thinking that he is doing the will of the people as well??

Hi and Good morning...The answer to your question is "yes" unfortunately. But tell me what politician has ever been for the people? Maybe Abe Lincoln but you see what happened to him back in History. President Bush isn't going to listen to his people or Congress. He's going to do what he wants to do or what someone else in the WH tells him to do. Politicians lie just to get there foot in the door so do speak. No one cares anymore or what the Constitution represents. Bad presidents and flamboyant politicians have put our country to shame. It's a disgrace, our country use to be a great nation and now...I'm not so sure. Have a blessed day!

Yes, he's denying the people their rightful voice in the democratic process. But what else is new? Politicians only do what THEY want, and what THEY feel is in THEIR best interests. They've long ago forgotten that THEY are supposed to be PUBLIC SERVANTS. Even in a republic such as the U.S.A., the nation is supposed to be governed by representatives elected "by the people, for the people". Apparently, politicians have forgotten that they are there to serve the people, NOT themselves. -RKO- 05/09/07
