You can see by the mix of answers that there is very divided opinion. Those of us that are GLBT can tell you, it's not good or bad, it's just who we are. Those that are misguided by churches that spread hateful teaching will denounce us as sinful and sexual predators, etc. Mostly this is out of ignorance and fear of the unknown. Many religions and churches are welcoming and acknowledge that people that are homosexual are exactly that ..... people. And since people are diverse, people that are homosexual are just as diverse. There are many stereotypes that are promoted by the media, but there are just as many if not more people that don't fit those stereotypes. The general population of heterosexuals have a hard time understanding homosexuality and it give them an "icky" factor. That's because they are heterosexual. To them the thought of having a sexual attraction to someone of the same sex is a turn off. What they don't grasp is that to someone that is homosexual, the thought of having a sexual attraction to someone of the opposite sex is a turn off. It's the same reaction. Frankly who I fall in love with and who I live with and spend my life with is my business and no one elses. But some people think that "that's very true, so don't wave it in my face". I'm not going to pretend to my neighbors and co-workers that my wife is my sister. That would be a lie and I don't lie well and it makes me feel anxious. Why should I live my life in secret because it makes someone else uncomfortable. They are uncomfortable because of ignorance. Most people get to know me and listen to me talk about my kids and dogs and wife, just like everyone else and realize, oh they are just like everyone else, except her spouse is a woman. There are some excellent sources of information at www.pflag.org/ which is Parents, Families and Friends of Gays and Lesbians and also at www.hrc.org/ look under the column "get informed". Do a little research for your report, it will help to get the full picture.

Uhm, I'd say it's not a good thing or a bad thing. It's obviously some kind of natural phenomenon, as much as we'd like to think it's not, and natural phenomenon cannot be good or bad.
It just is.
You may wish to change your topic to homosexual culture maybe, and ask his question in that light. Because homosexuality on it's own is neither good nor bad, it just is. It's like being a brunette, it's not good or bad, it just is.

It is good because it's natural. It's as good as being a brunette or 5'8".
I am sure there are some that think it's a bad thing to be eradicated or "cured," but the contributions homosexuals make to society is undeniable in the arts, television, movies, science, and education and the law.

It's not a good or bad thing, it's a natural thing. Regardless of how many people say God is against us, apparently he made us, and everything else... that is you are religious and believe in that sort of thing. Personally I feel it's a natural thing, everyone has desires, wants, and needs. No one person has the same as the next person, it's natural to be different, and I would say it's a good thing. If we were all the same, life would be pointless and boring.

Everyone has their own opinion on that subject, for many different reasons.
I personally see nothing wrong with homosexuality and I'm not afraid to admit that it's normal and natural. I'm not afraid of people that society sees as "different."
I completely support homosexuality.

I have no idea how old you are or what type of report you are doing.
However, think about your question. You are asking if it's "okay" to be a human being.
Do you really need other people's opinions about this?
If your brother or sister was gay, would you ask someone's opinion?
Personally, I think people of all races, colors and sexual orientations are "okay" and have my respect. I don't need anyone else's opinion.

Homosexuality itself should carry no moral weight one way or another. It's who is doing what with who for what reason and what the consequence are that are the moral things involved.
Hurt no one else.
