Flyindustman is correct in that this could be over analyzed or discussed. I feel simply that NO you are not safer not knowing what you are missing. In simple technology terms...then we would not have the phone or the light bulb. In theology then no one would seek God because they were safer not knowing what they were missing. In the baser of things. Again no is the answer..if you do not seek more then you will be only as stagnant as you are today. Is this not why we watch the news, read the paper, and yes...ask questions on YA...we want to know there is more that we are missing. If you want to go all the way to the very basic of human nature. Again No...sometimes when you find what you are missing you don't have to stray from a relationship...you bring what you have found that you need home to the one you love and let them fill that spot. The soul and mind are always hungry. On a lighter note...I think that is why there are turn signals on cars...because sometimes off the beaten path to search is not always a bad idea...some of the best stories about road trips are when people took a turn that was not on the map. Mooch this is a question from you that I won't touch with a ten
foot pole, this breaks down to a question of deep philosophy
where I can't give an answer I wouldn't feel like qualifying
the moment somebody shot some holes in it.

we'd still be at it, I would anyway so I'll have to pass on this one.

Sometimes it is better not to know what we are missing in our lives. Then we can be contented with what we have. Comparisons do make life a little unsettled sometimes. It has happened with me many times. At my place I am happy with the things I have but when I visit some of my friends places and see their lifestyle I come back home feeling very disturbed. Of course, the feeling wears off with time but call it my weakness or whatever, it does disturb me for some time at least.

Ignorance is bliss......it goes both ways those.

I just overheard a girl (totally in tears) telling her friend that her Dad just bought her a brand new Mustang for high school graduation but he got her blue and she wanted red. She was seriously distraught.

Now for her life looks pretty good - if that is all you have to worry about, but how will this poor girl cope when a serious problem comes about. I believe not knowing what pain and misfortune and struggle really is, can be harmful to you. You can't escape everything forever though.

If you're talking about bigger and better things out there - then I say go for it and find out for yourself.

They say ignorance is bliss. It is not better to not know. Just because you dont know the danger or how to gain the opportunity or what your missing does not make your life better. It keeps you in the dark. Sure you feel fine. But thats the best your going to get ever.

I rather always be challenged and learning new things. I repeat what I believe, "Happiness is in achieving more than what has been achieved". Knowledge is power and seeking it moves us. Lack of knowledge weakens us, and leaves us vulnerable in far to many ways.

That is an irritating question. Like the one hand clapping in a forest if a tree falls and who hears. 1. who cares. 2 . if i am always with me i miss nothing. 3. so there is nothing but make believe and smoke and mirrors. maybe maybe maybe. 1. who cares.

no, i think that is more dangerous, if you dont know what you are missing, do you think would you be bothered to look for it, take the risk to attain it, challenge yourself to finish it?
life would be stagnant in that case.
