I have been on BC for so long that I forgot how to count. I started spotting on Friday and my flow came Monday. Which day should I start counting. I am trying to get pregnant so I want to be as close to my ovulation day as possible.

I just finished reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility and the author says to start counting from the first day of red blood flow. So if you have red blood starting on June 1 and again on June 30, you have 29 day cycles. Subtract 14 from the length of your cycle to get the APPROXIMATE day of ovulation, in this case day 15. Tracking cervical fluid will help you to pinpoint the OV day a bit better. Clear, stretchy "egg-white" fluid will mean that OV is coming, and when it dries up it means OV has happened. Good luck!

Get the ovulation detection sticks from any pharmacy, it tells u the best time to concieve... these r not expensive,easily available & r reliable.. so u don't have to count the days. it tells u 24 hours befor ovulation.

start counting from friday (being day 1)! and have sex as much as you can between days 8 and 18! hope this helps!
