What determines how long your speech should be?

Is it something like how large the audience is... or what the occasion is? Or what?

i don't think it's the length of the speech as is the content. You want to be direct and to the point. that should move it quickly along.

the length of the speech is not important. however the contents is. it shouldn't be so long that people get bored or forget what you have said, but then again it shouldn't be too short, otherwise people will think you don't care. keep it flowing and throw in a few jokes, you'll do fine.

It depends on the topic,or the circumstances depending if it's just an introductory speech,or if you're the main speaker,or if several different people are speaking.

I think it all depends on how much you know about the particular subject your speaking of, how comfortable you feel, and how the audience is responding....

what the subject is and if you got enough to say of interest and the occasion and how long people going to listen to it
