I'm sure you've heard "It's the the thought that counts". I'd be delighted to receive a homemade cake. If any mom thinks it's cheap there is a serious problem in the family.

That depends, is it a mix from a box, like just add water and frost, or is it a cake recipe that you made from scratch? If you have made a cake that is homemade, then it will be more satisfying to you as the baker, and to whomever the consumer will be, however, if you are short on time, make a box cake may be nice, as long as its done well, not ugly!

No, because it's something you took time to make and your hands that made it,, I think it would be great because of the time and efford you put in it and your mom will be glad you took the time to do something yourself for her aswell. I make cakes for a liveing and most often don't get payed for it when it comes to my family because I love makeing them smile and knowing that I'm the one who made them smile and it didn't come from a store it came from the heart. You can't call something cheap if it comes from the heart. My daughter makes me a cake every year and I think God she took the time to make something for me. hope this helps

No! That's so lovely. Putting time into something is valued more by Moms than money. Even if my child was a millionaire I'd swoon over a cake they made for me.

A mother will love and appreciate any gesture her child makes to celebrate Mother's Day. Homemade gifts in fact are the best because it means you cared enough to make it yourself and not just drop by a store.

In my opinion if a person is thoughtful enough to give someone a gift, be it a cake or diamonds......then you can't put a pricetag on something like that. It really is the thought that counts.
