I recently found out I had a yeast infection and a bladder infection both. I took the medicine that was prescribed to me and both has cleared up, but now I have something called Bacteria Vaginoses? I dont know what it is or has it is contracted.. The doctor did however give me a vaginal cream to use called Clindesse.. I am worried about using it. Why I dont know I guess it just scares me to have something wrong and not know what it is.. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you learn from it.. I mean how do you get it, and how well does the medicine work? Please help me. I have never had any kind of problem like this, and this is my 2nd pregnancy. It just seems like everything is hitting me at once..

The anti-yeast stuff frequently leads to bacterial vaginosis - b/c you kill off ALL the yeast, the bacteria take over. You need a happy balance.

I would suggest going to the natural food store and getting some probiotics - some acidophilus and also some plain yogurt (NO sugar - bacteria and yeast both love sugar) and start getting some healthy bacteria into your body.

The antibiotics will kill of the bacteria - but you could end up with a yeast infection again. Vicious cycle!

I've never had it, but it sounds like you could use some good bacteria in your sysytem if you're having these issues. It's preventative so you'll still need that cream to clear this one up.
Prevention is as simple as this:

Go to the store and buy these two yogurts in whatever flavor you like, then alternate them eatind one, one day and the other the next:
1) Dannon's Fruit in the bottom (it has acidophilus cultures which kill bad bacteria and fungus preventing infection)
2) Dannon's Activia (it has bifidus regularis and other gut flora cultures).
Do this and you won't have any more problems in that area. Guaranteed.

Aren't all of the wonderful things that happen to our bodies during pregnancy great?! Bacterial infections in the vagina are most often caused by a change in your ph balance. I've never had one while pregnant but have gotten one shortly after giving birth. Just follow your doctor's course of treatment and I'm sure yours will clear up soon. Son't worry....I know they are very unpleasant, but it will go away. Good luck anf congrats on your baby to come :)

My daughter had that when she was 13 months. I was driving alone from CA to AZ and she was having diarrhea every 30 mins, so I couldnt just pull over every 30 mins to change her otherwise I would've taken 12 hours to get home. Although I changed her every as often as I could...she still got some feces in her vagina and caught that bacteria. It irritated her so bad, her vagina was bleeding..I felt so bad...

I had bacterial vaginosis which they found during a pap smear. They gave me a strong dose of antibiotics and it cleared up. The doctor told me that you can get it from toilet paper, pads, and tampons that are contaminated with it or you can get it sexually from your partner. Most women have no symptoms with this.
