I had all my songs on my laptop, then my laptop broke. So is there any way to load the songs back to my Itunes on a totally different computer, so I can add more songs to my Ipod without deleting the ones I have no backup for

There is none -> that is mostly the case. But here's a good news! There are software developers who came up with an answer to this problem iPod is causing its consumers. You can now use a 3rd party software which enables you to transfer your music files from iPod to PC. One of which is the Tansee iPod Transfer. You may download the software, or any of its kind for free at cnet's download website. (Sorry, I couldn't give you the direct link to it but you can easily browse their directory. It's just easy to navigate from one page to another). Goodluck!

try going into the file options and open the folders. I tried it and I found the songs, but the names on the files were not the names of the songs. I had to guess what was what and I could only do it one song at a time. I have an older version, so maybe if you have the newer version, it might be a little different. have you tried to extract the music files from the laptop hard drive? I know the laptop broke, but you never mentioned how. Is it possible to remove the hard-drive and use it elsewhere?

There's no good way to do this in Itunes. That really isn't a feature it offers. You can open your Ipod in explorer and move files, but the files have cryptic names, and you'd have to go and rename each file after moving it.

There are freeware programs which do a good job of this and would be a better choice. Ipod Music Liberator is specifically intended to plug this hole in Itunes. Yamipod is a full feature program that can do this, and anything else you need with an ipod. Both are free. Other programs with the same features are available, but these are both programs I've used and been happy with.
