Yes, you have made a change in diet or something else. Yeast grows according to your behavior. If you eat alot of sugar, if you are stressed, if the area was left damp and moist for any reason, yeast will grow. Itching the area will also make it worse.

I am prone to yeast infections, so I try to eat yogurt on a daily basis (it contains active yeasts that prevent an infection). There are also herbal pills containing these active yeasts. I also watch my sugar intake. Unfortunately, I can't just stop the stress. :]

If I do get a yeast infection or symptoms, I always have anti-itch cream like vagisil in my medicine cabinet. I use it two to three times a day and if the infection does not go away in a day or two, I get Monostat 1-day from the store. The effects are not immediate, but within three days the infection is gone. Use it at night because it leaks.

Just be sure it is a yeast infection. A bacterial infection may also go away on its own, but if it doesn't, it can cause other problems. Antibiotics are usually necessary.

You can tell the difference by the discharge. A yeast infection will have a "cottage cheese" or sticky appearance. A bacterial infection will have a smooth, yellowish or greenish appearance, and it won't go away with Monostat.

Hope this helps. If not, IVillage.com has several articles on yeast infections.

it doesn't happen often, but yes. yeast infections occur when the natural bacteria in our vagina fails to grow in sufficient numbers to keep the naturally occuring yeast that is there also under control. you see the bacteria eats the yeast. Perhaps your immune system was low, so for a while you had an over production of yeast, you may have eaten some yogurt and increased your bacterial counts to make up for the lack.

You didn't have a yeast infection then. When you have one you need to treat it. When we get infections anywhere in our bodies they have to be treated with some sort of antibiotic otherwise they get worse over time. With a yeast infection it has to be treated. Most of us women get over the counter products to treat it.

I guess it's possible but I'd pick some cream up just in case. Yeast infections are horrible!

yes its very possible for it to clear up on its own. If you kept the area very clean, and dry, it shouldn't have a problem going away on its own. Use warm water with a very mild soap, if any at all, and make sure the area stays dry.

yeast and bacteria love warm, dark places with lots of moisture.
its makes the perfect breeding ground.

You always have yeast down there. Sometimes you have more than other times (thus the infection). It can clear itself up sometimes. Lucky you!!

No it can SEEM to disappear but it will rear its ugly head with much more ferocity. If you think you had one go buy an over the counter cream and treat it. Left untreated it can cause alot more problems.
