Can elephants fly? if not why not. i need proof to prove to a friend - not joke!?

I need this proof. not just 'No'.

Things that have the ability to fly can counteract the force of gravity by creating an opposite force, lift. Planes can fly even though they weigh a lot because they can produce an enormous amount of lift. Birds don't produce as much but they don't weigh as much, so they don't have to oppose as much gravity.

Elephants cannot fly because they have no way of producing enough lift to counteract the pull of gravity caused by their mass and weight.

I actually think it is impossible to prove that Elephants do not fly, just because they have no recognised means of flying, and are too heavy for mans understanding of their ability to fly, there are no pictures of elephants flying except manipulated pictures, this does not prove that they can not fly, I'm sure evidence can be found that elephants can be flown, but just because no one has seen an elephant flying, doesn't mean that we know they do not fly.
Had you asked if I had seen an elephant fly, I could answer yes, I have seen flies around an elephant, and around their dung. That can be proved.
But we can't prove elephants cannot fly, anymore than we can prove fairies do not exist.

The only way you will get proof, is to film one trying to fly after you have scared it over a cliff, but then I think u will get linched by animal welfare. No they cannot fly, I think their body mass might have something to do with it, also they dont have wings and no their ears arent big enough and do not flap up and down.

They can in an aeroplane and under zero gravity conditions... and Dumbo of course.

ummmm. first they dont have wings.. what would you like them to fly with.. and second.. they weight tons they cant even jump.
