According to " upanishads " , Hindu scriptures, the Universe is "Anadi", [ Beginingless] and "Anantha" [Endless].I do not believe in Big Bang Theory. I do believe this universe is ffar far beyond cerebral comprehension and hence IS having neither a Begining nor an Ending. It has been always " IS ".

There are cosmologists who look into where the Big Bang itself may have come from, and who hypothesize that the higher-dimensional space that this universe is "in" and that could have given rise to this and a multitude of other, separate universes might be infinite in size and age, in both directions in time. They call the whole shebang the multiverse. However, this "pocket" universe of ours did have a start, the B.B. As for how it will "end", it might not ever be destroyed, but as it expands on and on and all the galaxies have drained down black holes, it will likely become a cold, dark place unable to support life. This is sometimes called the "heat death" scenario, where all possible available energy is lost to entropy.

Why do you not believe in the "big bang" when evidence shows all galaxies moving away from each other? If they are flying apart now, there must have been a period in time when they were all close together. Why is it beyond comprehension? Would God needlessly make it more complicated than what we can see in a telescope and see around us on Earth?

Yes, I believe the universe had a beginning.

I do not know if it will have an ending. Evidence is that the current expansion will continue forever.

Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That is what makes humankind so great, and unpredictable. Your believe that the Universe always was, and my belief in the Big Bang will probably not have any lasting impact on others. If you want to read about the scientific reasons why the Big Bang is more than a theory, check out the website below. The Catholic Church accepted the Big Bang explanation in 1951.

Here is a great quote:

"According to the big bang theory, the universe began by expanding from an infinitesimal volume with extremely high density and temperature. The universe was initially significantly smaller than even a pore on your skin. With the big bang, the fabric of space itself began expanding like the surface of an inflating balloon – matter simply rode along the stretching space like dust on the balloon's surface. The big bang is not like an explosion of matter in otherwise empty space; rather, space itself began with the big bang and carried matter with it as it expanded. Physicists think that even time began with the big bang. Today, just about every scientist believes in the big bang model. The evidence is overwhelming enough that in 1951, the Catholic Church officially pronounced the big bang model to be in accordance with the Bible."

We're very sure the universe had a beginning - all the evidence points to the universe beginning 13.7 billion years ago in a singularity. We're not so sure about an end yet.

I'm sorry you don't think you could understand the universe - that it's beyond your 'cerebral comprehension'. Try taking a few physics and astronomy courses - you'll realize we actually know quite a bit about the universe.

I can't believe that the universe did not have a beginning.
Wether you believe it or not everything had to start from somewhere and i read somewhere that space or universe was at once very small and did not enough room to fit solar systems etc but i do know that the universe is getting bigger and bigger. But we don't know for sure because we haven't been round long enough to find that answer out but it must have started from somewhere. What is behind space and the universe? now that is a tricky question there must be some kind of energy force that is making the universe and that i wonder is what it caused the universe to start?

Anadi, estimated 5 billion years ago, Anantha, estimated in 5 billion years. However, in 3 billion years the (big crunch) which will take a very different form, where it will be the Milky Way galexy and the Andromeda galexy colliding, in 5 billion years the sun will turn into a nova and consume the earth. Taking all this into considderation you can sleep safely tonight in the knowledge that the world is not sheduled to end tonight.

This discussion reminds me of a joke where a scientist was giving a presentation on the Universe...He mentioned that the Universe was estimated to end in about 15 billion years...After his speech was over an elderly woman with a very worried look on her face came up to him and asked him what he said about the universe coming to an end...He said yes, the best information available indicated the Universe would come to an end approximately 15 billion years from now...She looked relieved and said Oh, thank God, I thought you said 15 Million years."

until we can prove otherwise, everyone can believe what they would like to believe. I think that the universe does have a beginning and that it was the Big Bang. I also believe that the universe has an end, but that won't be for tens of billions of years.

you are of course, entitled to your beliefs, but that does not make them right. the universe works on observable, measurable, and testable principles and one of the big ones is cause and effect. according to big bang theory, there was nothing and then BANG!, there was something, hence cause and effect which has been observed and measured vis cosmic background radiation. so we know something happened and that it is still happening, the universe is expanding, but where this ends or if it ends remains to be seen. and i would not place too much faith in the upanishads, as they have about as much credibilty as the bible when it comes to whatever came before the universe was 'created' and what has gone on since.

area and time are no longer consistent. This makes issues very no longer elementary to comprehend, previous => contemporary => destiny. I agree, that God is us interior the destiny, God is all, which makes all concievable preceptions of god authentic. no longer something is provable, no longer something is unprovable. I do think of god set up our certainty for what we precieve as struggles. I say precieve via fact a rock would not precieve a luxurious cruise trip to the bahamas any further or much less of a war than being smashed with a hammer. however the mysterious and uncertain keeps us from being bored, and thats sturdy via fact we gained't look after the reality.
