Our town in South Dakota flooded this weekend and seeing all the stuff people lost makes me sick. What makes me even sicker is that nothing about it has been on the news other than locally. There are many in this town of 30,000 who have lost everything, thier basements are collapsing and no one like Fema, etc who help other places even know we are alive....THAT makes me sick. What makes me proud is how we are all trying to help each other and have the nerve and stamina not to piss and moan about the gov't not helpng and rebuilding for us because we have the backbone and knowhow to rebuild ourselves. We do not come from a long line of welfare recipients who are still crying about not getting free $$. We cry for a bit in frustration and grieve the losses, then get in gear and clean stuff up AFTER we get off work!

Nothing has made me sick today. I did just rescue a bird stuck in a window though. A little sparrow somehow got stuck between the open glass and the screen so all I had to do was push the window open further and it flew away! So I guess that was my one good deed for the day.

When i dropped my son off at daycare he only had one teacher to 13 other crying babies. I wanted to take my son home but I had to go to work. I am going to have a serious discussion with my husband about this.

a lot of things make me sick. type in hunted like animals on youtube, and click on the first clip. Its gross but its worth the message. Its sad that the US government knows about this but does nothing about it.

Not today, but my work frequently takes me on to general surgical wards and one day a colostomy bag burst and the smell was unbelievable.
