I don't want to be rude but I have at least one of my ex's family members call me and ask how our son is and if I can work things out with my ex. They always say he is really sorry and he will be better next time, but I know he won't. They must think that if they ask enough then I will give in. How should I deal with them it has been months of this. his parents are older and I don't want to be rude.

Dont go back with him...

Your other post sounds like he treated you bad.

Many people break up as it simply does not work or dont fancy each other and more like friends

That would be different.

Also you got my post very wrong... have added a bit for you

Tell them your decision is final and you're not going to change your mind. However, you care deeply about them, and would like to be able to remain friends with them..but the discussions about the ex has to stop, as it makes you uncomfortable.

You don't want to be rude?? Hmmm its ok for them to be rude but not for you??

Ok well invest in a caller ID unit or phone and screen your calls, don't answer theirs and you'll avoid the problem all together.

Or you could grow a back bone my dear and tell them graciously you appreciate that they check to see how your son is doing but it is none of their business on the other matters they inquire about.

Be polite at all times but you must put your foot down to what you believe will be better for you and your son.

Well just tell them that you'd rather not talk about you two getting back together, be honest, tell them you like hearing from them (if you do) but you don't want to talk about your ex or getting back together with him.
