Are there any sewing classes in Memphis?

Curious if any one in the Memphis area knows of craft stores, fabric stores or anyone who offers beginners sewing classes? I'm somewhat new to the area, and am not sure of all the small shops downtown to collierville and everywhere in between! Thanks so much!!!!

I don't know for sure and haven't lived there for a long time, but you could certainly ask at fabric stores whether they know of any places if they don't have classes themselves.

Other places you might be able to find sewing lessons (anywhere) would be:

...community centers
...high schools or universities (Univ. of Memphis), or community colleges ... or ask Home Ec. teachers
...stores selling sewing machines
...(or maybe call and ask the Memphis Chamber of Commerce)

You may be able to find local lessons too by looking at the websites of the various pattern makers ... Simplicity, Butterick, etc. Or those sites may have message boards where you could also ask about good places.

You might also be able to get some info somehow through craigslist--the Memphis area one??
Or perhaps there are other message boards that have to do with the Memphis area in general like these:

simply ask at all fabric stores and even sewing machine shops. Joanns usually has something going.
