It's not a big deal at all, really. Once you see that little heartbeat you wont even care whats happening anyway!

It doesnt hurt and you get a much better picture most of the time when my baby was 32 weeks I was able to see the hair on his head it was so cool! The only this is that is is just much easier if you get the regular one cuz you dont have to change! But most likey you will need to get a trasvaginal one because it is so early. I was 11 weeks when I got my first ultrasound and they said that most of the time they would do a transvaginal but they would try the other way first and it worked fine but they said that it worked so well because I was so skinny. Plus you are even earier that 11 weeks they probably would have even done a trasnvaginal on me at that time.

They will most likely do a trans vaginal ultrasound at 9 weeks. I've had several, both when I was pregnant and when I wasn't (to check for cysts on my ovaries). They are not painful at all. They use a thin wand - not much bigger than a tampon and cover it with a condom like protector. They also use lubricant gel, so it goes in very easily. It only takes about 15 minutes to get all the pictures and measurements they need. The nice thing for you is that although you can't hear your baby's heart beat until about 12 weeks with a Doppler, you will be able to see your baby's heart beat flicker on the monitor with an ultrasound. They can also tell you the baby's heart rate. Don't worry, just be excited about seeing your little one. It's a wonderful experience!

It was a little uncomfortable but not too bad. It is not too big or anything. The most uncomfortable part was where it was going opposed to my belly. It was pretty accurate. It gave the exact day of conception for me and it had to be right because after looking at a calender it was the oly time I had sex in that entire month. I rather have the belly one but I did like the accuracy of the transvaginal one.

you will be fine. Have you ever had a pap smear? Well it is a lot less uncomfortable that than. Infact I don't think the acutal ultrasound thing entering you even really hurts, you could say it feels a bit odd and of course you have got your legs wide open in someone's face who has to do the procedure but the result is just too amazing to worry about it. You should be able to hear your baby's heartbeat and they will take measurements and can be very precise with a due date - much more precise than they can be with the date of your lmp and so on. You will be fine, just relax and good luck with it.

Not not uncomfortable, no more uncomfortable than douching. I would actually recommend it for a closer picture and calculating size of the baby. Sometimes a regular ultrasound that early cannot see the baby, but doing vaginal gets closer to where the baby is. At 9 wks, they may try a regular one first and if that doesn't work, then they'll do vaginal.

For a transvaginal u/s, the tech might have you ever're taking off your bottoms and placed a drape over your self on a similar time as she is out of the room. Then she will come back in and teach you the gadget, which seems relatively like a vibrator. she will placed a latex masking on it and a touch lubrication. In my case, she exceeded it to me and allowed me to insert it myself and then she took it and moved it around to get the photographs. It did no longer harm in any respect, yet grew to become right into a touch uncomfortable while she grew to become into attempting to zoom in on some distinctive areas.

It's really not that bad. The only problem I had with it was that the tech took a really long time with it and I really had to go to the bathroom...then it got super uncomfortable. As long as you use the bathroom first, I'd say you'll be perfectly fine. This is one thing during the whole process that you should really not even worry about at all.

it doesn't hurt, its just uncomfortable. The doctor puts the thing in there and moves it around to get a good picture and you have to lay there with your legs open while he/she does that. But once you see the baby on the screen the feeling of being uncomfortable goes away.

actually i felt that the abdominal ultrasound was more uncomfortable with her pushing down on my stomach to find the baby at 11 weeks... i felt like i got punched in the lower abdomen for a few hours after wards... it didn't hurt, it just had pressure.
