It's your child and your body and you do what you want.
That said, as a doctor (almost...just a another year left) who's married to a pediatrician, I have to correct the misinformation that you made regarding the fatc that breast milk and formula are the same. They're not. And just because a breast fed child doesn't show any outward signs of being healthier than a bottle fed child it doesn't mean there are some more covert manifestations which may be minimal, but the differences are a scientifc fact. I never steer anyone to or away from breast feeding, but I feel an obligation to correct the misinformation that these two milks are the same. True it's no one's business but the mom's but contrary to your statement, there are double blind scientifically proven international studies which prove:
A breastfed baby does tend to have a higher IQ than a bottle fed baby.
A breastfed baby is less likely to have asthma or other allergies than a bottle fed baby.
A breastfed baby is less likey to develop lupus than a bottle fed baby.
I only listed these to be fair to the evidence, but ultimatley it's the mom's decision and it's no one else's business but hers, just as other choices that people make in regard to their children. But facts are facts and we can't ignore them.

Ok I have no idea what occurred to my reply., what I did with my youngster used to be I regularly decreased the no of occasions I breast fed and announced extra solids and and quickly she forgot all approximately it. Here is what I discovered To make the transition interval less difficult on a mom and little one, gurus endorse the following pointers: • Engage the little one in a distracting exercise or opt for an trip for the period of occasions that might almost always be spent breastfeeding. • Do no longer take a seat within the spot wherein breastfeeding almost always took position, and prevent dressed in nursing clothes. • Do no longer try to wean a little one for the period of an adjustment interval, similar to a brand new day care supplier, or for the period of occasions of strain or difference. A little one will likely be extra immune to giving up the alleviation skilled for the period of breastfeeding. • If the little one is more youthful than one million 12 months of age, attempt to regularly introduce a bottle or cup from time to time that breastfeeding might as a rule take position. For an older little one, supplying a healthful snack and a cup would make the transition less difficult. • Make alterations to the everyday events, this will likely permit a mom to awareness on different events except the breastfeeding routine. • Enlist the support of a associate, partner or pal to furnish a everyday distraction and take the awareness off of breastfeeding. • If the little one adopts a addiction similar to thumb sucking or turns into connected to a blanket or crammed animal, don't discourage the habits, the little one could also be making an attempt to emotionally alter to the difference of weaning.

Doctor's do not push breastfeeding, they are barely trained in it. They actually push formula feeding if almost anything is "wrong" including a mom just asking for advice.
And you know what people lecture women for smoking during pregnancy. It isn't just a choice, it a decision that impacts the health of your child for the rest of their lives. 99% of women CAN breastfeed if they have the right support. The other 1% could use banked milk. Even if you believe the 5% stat, that can easily be made up for with banked milk.
Next time you feel like looking down at a mom for giving her toddler pop, sweets, co-sleeping, daycare, leaving a 9 year old home alone, having a fat kid or whatever it is you look down on people for. Just give yourself a smack. Clearly those are all valid choices too.

We're becoming a nation of stupid kids, breastfeeding has shown to increase IQ points.
Plus the health benefits, maybe not yours, but as a whole this is another proven fact. Since I pay insurance premiums - and insurance premiums are rising, here is again why it is my business, along with non-needed c-sections, which are hugely more expensive the v-births, so once again is my business as it is my money.
Also when wic and food stamps from my government tax dollars go to formula - which is very expensive, for moms who CAN bf. My business again.

Those who promote breastfeeding do so because they know that it is always the healthier choice. Unless you're some rare case - 1 in a million - who truly cannot do it.
Here are 101 reasons to breastfeed:

It's your child, your breast.... I say do what you want with both.... My wife breastfed until it hurt, so we changed to formula by necessity....It really doesnt matter which way you choose, just as long as the kid is getting good care, who cares if its from a breast or a can.....Now I'm hungry.....I wonder why....
