Enough is enough; however, as long as people watch it, media and Hollywood will continue to spew it out

Media violence is something people use as an excuse or an object of blame. When something bad happens, people will point to violence on TV and claim that it contributed to the incident. I think media violence CAN influence people somewhat but ultimately it is a scapegoat. In our society, almost no one takes responsibility for their actions. They always have something to blame it on. The only way to "solve the problem" of media violence is to be better parents and control our children's viewing habits and to not allow this kind of nonsense as an excuse or defense for criminal activity.

I think they are well aware of how media violence affects the public. It desensitizes us.
I barely watch television, but one example I can think of was an episode of the Shield where they were advocating the use of torture by police. Low and behold, some time later the Abu Ghraib torture scandal broke.
They call it predictive programming.
Like a lot of other things, we are going to have to break up the media and take it back for we the people.

I don't think enough reporters get beat up. There should be MORE violence in the media. Reporters often make up lies to get higher ratings. I'd like to get the line started by smacking Bill O'Reilly in the head with a fly swatter.

Are you referring to the entertainment media? I think they put violent scenes (and overt/exaggerated sex scenes) into their films and music for the bottom line: They know it will bring in the money. They couldn't care less about the potential social aftereffects.
As for news media, they are merely reporting reality, and it would be a disservice if these happenings went unreported.

the problem is that people love to complain about these things, the more people complain, the less you will see it on tv,before you know it you will have to leave the country just to see it on tv.
