No! No! A narcissist is not just someone with a high ego, they care ONLY for themselves, and all others are merely tools to obtain worship and acclaim. A narcissist has zero empathy or compassion or understanding of their fellow humans. What's worse, they believe themselves to be perfect and so see no need to change, and any criticism will be met with rage and retaliation.

Confidence is a good trait to have in modern America, but narcissism is unhealthy and leads very quickly to evil behavior.

Narcisists are insecure at heart and need constant reinforcement of their magnificence. They tend to be abusive and quickly earn the contempt of others.

Confidence, character, and caring are much better.

Good traits to have in today's culture are self-confidence, integrity, and compassion. Maybe you are making the connection in the area of confidence? There are a lot of negatives with a narcissistic personality that outweigh the confidence aspect... which is really not true confidence, it's more self-centered.

Someone with "narsistic traits (high ego)" shows there's something wrong with that person. Ususally, it's a cover for something else very lacking. Self-esteem, maybe?
