if the manual states that premium is required, then you cannot. higher grades of gas translate into higher detonation resistance. if you use an octane that is too low for your car, that can result in detonation which can cause engine failure.

Bottom line, no. You should use whatever the manufacturer says to use in it. Yes, the computer will try to compensate if you downgrade the octane, but that will lead to at best a loss of power, and at worst a knock which will lead to engine damage.

Already you want to break the rules? So use regular and then replace the engine in a few months. Do the math and pay the extra....

in this chilly climate, my ordinary is at approximately 19.5 in the summertime, i'm getting a normal of roughly 24. a chilly air intake will strengthen your economic device somewhat, and could income skill, so that's a win win. you would be able to get extra advantageous mileage, via fact I do run the motor vehicle slightly tough on party.

What you save at the pump will cost you big time soon...and it isnt worth it unless the engine is not up to snuff in the first place and you plan to replace it or overhaul....otherwise, stick with premium....

Try it and check for knocking. If it does, up the quality of gas you use until it stops.

Please don't spark knock pinging causes the computer to take away ingnition timing and you will be down on power. And ping causes the pistons and heads to overheat.

if it says to put in premium gas, then suck it up and get premium gas...you wanted the high performance car
