Where do we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going? What should we do? Why is there something instead of nothing? Can something come from nothing? These are some of the ancient questions derived from contemplating the phenomena of existence. If you seek answers to all these questions, it will lead you down a well trodden path travelled by great and small alike with many speculations and many claims to solving these burning issues. Sadly though all answers require at some point for you to take something for granted, or to have faith in, if you like, as all are born from subjectivism, the state of being part of a system and thus intrinsically tied to it, which makes objective insight or knowledge a mere unattainable illusion.
So, choose what you are willing to believe from the standards set by you for the evaluation of arguments and proofs proposed by others and never compromise, but keep an open and flexible frame of mind in order to evolve with our cultural evolution. For me I have found struggling with these questions to have been essential in my mental development, and although I cannot propose the answers, my historical and continual re-contemplation of these questions are part of what I was and are in the process of becoming. I suggest you embrace the mystery and visit the absurd, for this journey will create a sparkle from within and shine light upon those hidden corners of your being.

Existance is a statement, not a question. And the statement is: I AM!
This is such a powerful statement, the some religions go so far as to put those words into the mouths of their gods. But if you listen carefully, you can hear every entity in the universe shouting it out... some just have louder voices than others.
If you're looking for a question in all that, the question is this: Who are YOU that exists? As you can imagine, the answer will be different for every 'you' that you ask. But it is still a worthwhile question - it is what some scientists ask every day!

God (capital G), did not create us bla bla. bla. With us created the world and an order of rules to live by. Led by the demon (as usually), men rebel, don 't forget that the devil is loose on earth, for that reason God himself came to us as a man and reaffirm the rules that He expected us to live by. The answer to existence, is that we are not irrational animals, that we have a soul and is up to us to save it. The rest is easy to
understand. God gave us free will. Is up to you what you wan t to do with your existence

JD,
Since there are only two theories and you have dismissed one will only leave a scientific theory. Whereas life began with a big bang (explosion). Although nothing has been offered that can be proved as to what caused the Big Bang as there are far too many theories that make this suggestion to list them all here.
From this explosion the universe was formed and life here on earth and the beginning of existence for animal started with a single cell organism. Out of natural selection and evolution human emerged.
I hope this has helped.

The long answer:
Existence is a psychological disorder that the human race suffers from. As we are the only ones in the animal kingdom who have tried to ask this question, and foolishly try to answer it. This mental disease is genetic and those who try to cure this mental disorder have decided to create answers. At first, they were very complicated, and then one of the sufferers decided to create an easy way out of this question by creating the idea of god, and from that sprung many new revolutionary ideas about existence which never get to actually answering the question and ended up creating all new rules and taboos for these societies of God(s).
The short answer:
God did it, so go ask him/her/it/whatever.

Matter can not be created nor destroyed...if we take this into account, it means that our essence (soul, spirit, etc.) has been around forever in some form or fashion. Thus, whether it was a big bang or God, the only thing that had to be created was a physical body for our essence to inhabit.

Beside's the easy answer of 2+2 = 4, what is the answer to that problem....
So, we are throwing out easy answers and assuming that there is a harder more complex answer?

If you dismiss, "In the beginning God created.." Gen. 1:1. Then the only other answer is, "It just happened."
