Harry Truman's approval ratings reached a 25% low, yet he is known as a great president today.

Do you think we may reach a time when President Bush is also called a "great president" in spite of his current 28% approval rating?

If things turn around in Iraq before he leaves office, then yes, he will. People will view these things when making that determination a) leadership after 9/11, even democrats backed him fully b) Economy recovery c) Iraq war resolution (if this happens).

If he just has a and b, and cant get c, he'll probably be known as a president that had both positives/negatvies, and overall mediocre.

Dickweed....umm...sorry, I mean Bush, once stated that he knew he would end up like Truman. I could go on and on about all of the negative things that he has done to ruin the nation, but I think he will be, unfortunately, near great. This will be mainly because he held office during 9/11 and began to lead us through the crisis by claiming a war on terror. He will also be credited for acquiring several powers that previous presidents did not have and creating several new departments.

YES, no man can chose what will happen in the future, He did not chose to be the man to DEFEND our Country from radical nuts but he has the BALLS to fight for the freedom and safety of the USA, even if it's not the popular thing to do!
can the same be said of all you Bush Bashing IDIOTS out there? By the way I have seen more prosperity during HIS terms than I ever had under the GREEDY Thumb of clinton, Who never actually got 50% or more of the vote. billy boy was only elected because Perot got a large share of the cons. vote. Interesting when you understand that Ross never ran in a year that slick was not on the ballot, Conspiracy?????
The world will never know. But at least the conservatives don't want to erase the 2nd Amendment!!!!!!!!!!!

No, i don't love him any decrease than I did earlier I study your hyperlinks-- it really isn't any longer humanly accessible ;(- and that sucks. Leogirl0804- you're making an exceedingly good aspect! Im inspired! in case you look back into the kinfolk historic previous of maximum of th presidents of the U. S. , you'll ultimatley discover discover some type of evil ( pardon the expression, I hate it even as GW says it) bastardization of moral humanity. yet although , it really is already been shown that votes on my own aren't any more adequate to get you into the white abode. So what precisely is the golden fee ticket alot of all of them had in hassle-free? The solutions are available, any takers?

I think he will go down as one of the greatest failures of all time. He has demonstrated a total inability to be a consensus builder, to act with or surround himself with integrity laden people, started a war of aggression that has already killed thousands of citizens, and has bloated spending more that any President in history.

I doubt it seriously. He has overextended our military, has spent more money than any president, has the IQ of a spud, and is just not the kind of intelligent, well spoken, good policy providing type of individual that could inspire many. In fact his butcher of the English language is very embarrassing for most of us who took the time to learn it in grade school. I don't think he intentionally screwed up this country but he has done a pretty good job of it so far.

Yes he will be considered a great president. When Lincoln was in office he wasn't considered to be that. It was only looking back that history showed him to be great.

He will be remembered for all eternity as the most fraudulent president ever to to set foot in the history of mankind. When all of his crimes and profiteering accounts are revealed and shown to the world, he and his family will be ostracised and forced to flee to somewhere like the jungles of south America. Some of his crimes include deriliction of duty, direct profiteering from pre emptive wars, corruption (on so many levels), breaking international laws as well as US laws, allowing torture and illegal wiretapping of US citizens, you name it he's guilty of it. And thats just the stuff i can remember.

No. Truman did some things people didn't like (such as end segregation in the military). Over time, these things proved to be good. Bush is a total idiot. He either lied or used faulty intelligence (possibly a little of both) to start a war and has been unable to solve the problem.

Truman had us involved in Korea, but it didn't work out like Iraq has now.
