I know they are completely different, but which would you rather live in, and why?

North Carolina! It has the beach at one end of the state and the mountains at the other. The middle part is even pretty. You have the best of everything. The cost of living in the south is usually cheaper than the west coast. People are nicer (mostly) in the south. We have awesome weather (mostly).

Arizona has a hot desert climate and can get pretty uncomfortable in the summer time. North Carolina has the seasons, is a heck of a lot greener and like the first person said, mountains and the beach.

Those are the two states that we are thinking about also. However when we went into a nice restaurant in Charlotte we (non-white) felt VERY uncomfortable.... didn't feel like we belonged. very frat-boy/ good-ole-boy feeling. I didn't like it for that reason. Phoenix seems more cosmopolitan as it people moving in from all over...... what do you think?
