...according to the New Line Cinema grapevine, the next film to explore the further blood-spattering meyhem of Mr. Jason Voorhees is definately being considered, in conjunction with producer Michael Bay's Platinum Dune Productions; in the impending light of director Rob Zombie's reimagining of the 'Halloween' franchise, New Line wants to explore, in much greater detail, the tragic & tormented younger days of Jason.
This may or may not mean having the character of Pamela Voorhees (Jason's Mom) return, and expound upon further killings of her own, as she did in the first movie. Reportedly, this background scenario will be interspliced with the modern day Jason terrorizing a new group of hapless and lustful teens, who once again stumble onto Jason's hallowed territory at Camp Crystal Lake. I
It is rumored that not only will the origin of the hockey mask be re-imagined, but also the character of Tommy Jarvis might return, and be incorporated into the original storyline!!!
If this isn't enough good news, then let's do one better: Rumor control, over at New Line, is that this new 'reimagining' of the franchise might be done side-by-side with Paramount, the studio where Jason was originally wrought (Paramount handed the 'Friday the 13th' reins over to New Line, after the dismal box office returns of "Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhatten")
Then, of course, there's always the on-again/off-again rumor report, always flying fast and furious, about 'Freddy vs. Jason 2', whereby Freddy and Jason reluctantly join forces against none other than Ash, from the 'Evil Dead' movies (Seriously!!!).

well according to new Line cinema there is never going to be a new Nightmare on Elm Street or Freddy vs Jason despite rumors.
but here's some facts.
A few years ago a article came up after Jason X came out, saying that New Line wants to finish Jason's contract (13 movies (not including Freddy vs jason))
So i came up with some.... interesting ideas i wish i knew who to send them to, of things they could do.
Jason XI: jason has crashed ontto the new earth, and goes on a rampage. However at the end of the movie he is captured by some very... greedy ruthless people.
Jason XII: The capturoers have found a way to program Jason's mind. They wish to take over the universe by using Jason as a one man unstoppable fighting machine.
Jason XIII: The greedy men have been defeated but Jason is still loose. Someone will discover a secret about Jason no one ever knew about. The final show down to destroy jason once and for all will begin.

Jason X was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. They did set it up for more when Jason 2.0 landed on that new planet.
