I'm talkng about a shawl that is about 50 years old. It has two holes made by some creatures that slipped into the drawer in which it was kept. Who can ideally mend these holes? Owner based in San Antonio, Texas but with friends in India who can help. Any contact information of people who can mend the shawl will be appreciated. Thanks!

I would think you would want to have a professional take a look at it and figure out if it is repairable. A local drycleaner may have the name of someone who deals with delicate fabrics.

You can learn to darn, and repair it yourself.

But if it is a heirloom or piece with antique value you might want to contact a museum where they have textiles in your area. Maybe they know a professional textile repairs person that can do the work for you.

Just find someone that knows how to knit very well, they know how to fix it, being silk shouldn't be a problem if they know what theie doing.
