When I turn the knob on the shower all the way on hot, its still not hot enough. This water gets a max of warm, and it sucks. How can I make it hotter?

most new showers have scald protection. In the one I adjusted, I removed the faceplate of the single handle and rotated the plastic stopper a few degrees so the controls would allow more hot water. It will probably take an allen wrench and a jewelers screwdriver to get it apart.

Actually both the first answerer and second answerer are correct. If you notice that the water doesn't get as hot as you want in other areas of the house like the bathroom and kitchen sinks, then start by adjusting the heat adjustment of the water heater. If it only doesn't get like it should at just the shower, then I'd suggest looking to see if your shower faucet has a scauld protection feature on it. If so, you need to adjust that to allow the water to get warmer. Normally the showers that have the scaulding feature on them are the ones with just one shower knob.

Go to your water heater, on the bottom you will see a temp. guage, this is where the adjustment is made, just turn the dial towards hotter, test it prior to further adjustments

Turn the temp up on your water heater, unless you have kids, if you do, just take cold showers because they could burn themselves!
