I was wondering if you wear a thong, is there a greater chance of infection? If so, how can I prevent infection?

There is always a possibility that a yeast infection can occur no matter what type of underwear you are wearing. A lot of people will tell you not to wear thongs or silk underwear and only wear cotton to keep yeast infections at bay. However, if you just keep clean you will be fine. Just always remember to wash well, keep tampons and pads changed regularly, and you will be fine no matter what type of underwear you are wearing. Hope this helps! :)

Cotton panties are best. If you are looking for a sexy cotton panty, try the Hanky Panky line. Thongs that are really tight and not cotton are better at trapping moisture. If you are going to wear a tight thong, balance out the amount of "breathing time" you get by sleeping with no underwear on. I wear thongs all the time and have never had any health problems related to wearing them, as long as you are hygienic like with any other under wear.

It can increase your risk for developing a yeast infection... but if you dont wear extremely tight ones and stick with cotton you should be ok.

I'm not comfortable in thongs, myself. I spent my whole life pulling wedgies out, why would I put something there on purpose?! :-)

definitely not. as long as you're clean and dry 'down there,' there's no chance of you getting an infection, no matter what sort of underwear you've got on (as long as it's clean!)
