I just bought a small front load washing machine. It is small enough to fit in the space where the dishwasher is. My intentions are to remove my dishwasher and install the washing machine in it's place. Is this possible? can a plumber do the job?

You can but you will need to add additional plumbing waste lines along with H/C connections

It can be done but most washers need a 2" drainline. Your dishwasher is hooked into your sink drain which is probably 1-1/2". You could run the washer drain into the sink and be legal.

Yes he will need another type of compression fitting for the water lines and he will need to change a section of your drain pipe. This set up is common for Europeans.
