It is almost like they want you to beg them to ask.

Man, I HATE THAT! they basically want you to beg them, and to ask them to ask you the question. I don't like that. Next time that happens and they say, "nevermind.. . forget it.. " just say "ok" and move on, either physically or to another topic in conversation. It kinda freaks them out, and you can tell... :-)
I only do that to people that do that all the time, not if it's an occasional thing.. it's a kinda mean thing to do..
