Higher case means capital letters and lower case means small letters. Turn on the caps key to have every letter in capitals and hold the shift down and press the required key for 1 letter in capital. Do not turn on the caps lock or hold down the shift key to keep letters small. In the format menu you can change case. This gives you more options.
