No, it will not NOT NOT be effective this soon. Go to walmart or other pharmacy and get the TODAY SPONGE. It's easy to use, he won't notice it, and it's good for 24 hours.

Yes, taking the pill will postpone a period. If you started pills today and your period today, then your period will stop in about 2 more days.

It is always good to start birth control when you start your period. It might have some affect if you use it now whether your late or not. Remember it takes at least a month for it to start working so still use protection. Even after the pill starts working you should still take special precautions cause it isn't 100 percent sure. Just be safe there is alot of things out there that you don't want to run across

Your period should not be postponed if this is the way the your pill should start. Look in the information sheet it will hav all the answers for you. Though i will say mine says you shld start on the first day of a period that way you get instant cover, but they are all different study the information sheet or ask the pharmasist. Good luck x

I'm pretty sure they tell you when they give you the birth control that the best time to start it is the first sunday after you start your period. Im pretty sure that it will still be effective, the instructions may be a little bit different but it explains it in the instructions. I dont think that it will postpone your period but im not positive. If your still not sure you can call planned parenthood.

So you just up and decided not to take them? I would first check the expiration date. If it does not have one, I would try to find out what the expiration date is.

Even if you start now, it does not mean that you won't have your period while you are on vacation. Especially considering it takes a few pill packs to get your body regulated with the pills.

You should have started it when the doctor told you to.

When you got the birth control your doctor should have told you that you have to go through the first pack of pills before it is in your system and can prevent you from becoming pregnant. So since you were not taking it that long there is a possibility that you may have gotten pregnant. I have no idea of your chances, it would depend on when you had sex and what day of your cycle were you on. A woman is usually fertile on the 14th day of her cycle. But that is on a 28 day cycle. So if you are not 28 days than it is still about half way through your cycle.

taking the pills later will postpone it> Are you on vacation? I've know several people to take extra or go later for vacations. Also, you a back-up plan for the first 10 days or so. It does tend to make them feel really sick later when their period do occur - either heavier, more bloating, naucious

Who ever subscribed them to you should have given you directions. If I were you I would call them and your pharmicist. Believe it or not sometimes the Pharmacy will no more than the doctors office about medications of any kind. What ever you do use extra protection no matter what. As well as protecting yourself against STD's. Unless you really know the person you are with, don't take any chances with your health.

Birth control should be taken from the first day of mense.

Taken any other way can cause ineffectiveness of the contraceptive effect, spotting, swelling, or hormonal disturbance.
