Because you ruined their comfort level. They felt you had a relationship with them in the front and you in the back, by passing them, you are rejecting them, and they want to get you back, so they speed up.

when you pass someone it could make them feel rejected...
this however is no issue to most drivers because after a while they get used to the fact that they should let people pass if they want to go slow!
but new drivers still have that problem!

You know I think that is just one of those ****** moves of the road that we'll never be able to explain. My favorite is why is when the road are wet and flooded out or completely covered in ice in snow do people like to drive like even bigger idiots by cutting you off every chance they get? I just think them the finger or I'd get me some road rage cards.

I especially like the ones that speed up to pass you and then get in front of you and slow down.....DKHDS!!!!

They don't want you to pass them but I pass them anyways and I go slow them #@$&*%!! need to learn to drive

i've always wondered about that. is it universal? perhaps we'll never know. it's like, why do people stop twenty feet behind the car in front of them? or why do they drive in the fast lane if they don't want to exceed the speed limit? or why do they tailgate when the next lane is clear? or why........?

just to piss me off...lol no probably some old person didn't realize how slow they were driving then when you try to go by they think oh guess I should actually push the gas peddle......

Because you're not allowed to point a gun in their face when you get up next to them !

hahaha, that reminds me of this great e-mail i got this morning... I hate it when ppl do that, but you just have to remember that if that is the kind of thing they do, then their lives must be really sad and you should pity them, don't let them get you too mad. :)
