No, he isn't the greatest ever. There was this Chicago Bulls guy, he was pretty amazing.

I think Lebron has tremendous talent as far as the game of basketball is concerned. He's big, but he also can handle the ball, drive, pass, score, etc... Skill-wise, I'd definitely put him up there with Kobe and Jordan (in reality actually Jordan's shooting wasn't as good as a lot of other players). If what constituted a good player were skills alone, he would definitely be under consideration, I think only time will tell how that he adds dynamic and leadership to a team (I'll call it the MJ factor), like Jordan did. As for this question specifically (talent), yes, he probably is.

No he isn't. Ever heard of Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Jordan, etc. I could go on and on. LeBron is a good player but you have to give him more time to build his legacy. I'll even admit that Kobe is better than him at this point because he has the experience and the championships to prove it. I'm giving Kobe credit and I hate him. But wait until LeBron retires and then bring this question up again. He might not be the most talented player the NBA has seen or he might not be the best player in history but I believe he will one of the all time greats.

Talent-wise, I think it's hard to argue. He has just freakish natural ability- he's strong, quick, and incredibly athletic. But to be the greatest player he has to win championships. Not a championship - but championshipS. Multiple NBA titles. Without that, even if his lifetime stats equal/ are better than Michael Jordan, people will say he never won the titles that Micheal did.

Micheal Jordan won 6 NBA Championships- and twice he led them to back to back to back titles. I can't even imagine what you'd have to do to unseat Jordan as the best ever.

NO, I would have to go with Magic. He is the only guy i have seen that can play all 5 positions on the floor. And a true point guard at 6'8", you have to be pretty talented to do that.

Lebron might be the most talented right now, along with Nash, Kobe and D-Wade.

Has any other player at the age of 22 EVER lead his team without any assistance from a great playmaker or a dominant big man to such a great showing for two straight playoffs???
No one! And to think that he hasn't yet reached his prime and has not matured enough, he certainly has the makings of the greatest player EVER..
I dont need to point out his 2 great seasons(both mvp candidate) or his post season performance to show you how good this guy is. But truth be told, several years from now when the king cements his legacy, a lot of folks who kept ignoring his greatness will jumb into the cavs bandwagon.

Anyone who know NBA ball knows that if and this is a sad if Len Bias had lived he was one the most gited players ever gave MJ and his Tar Heels the flux, Bobby Knight called him and MJ the best he ever seen. Larry Bird was even going to come to rookie camp to work with him. Sad that he died on the day he was drafted if a drug over dose. Wilt was a freak,Magic and MJ were great. We will se how this turns out for Lebron.

He has a shot at being the greatest player, but Jordan, Bird, Wilt the Stilt, and others have proven that they are. Lebron has got along career ahead of him. Time will tell.

Not yet but he will be. He is The most dominant scorer in the playoffs since Kareem. Also keep in mind. He plays in Cleveland so it will take longer for the recognition. If he played in New York or L.A. ESPN would be calling him the second coming of Jesus by now. GO CAVS

In time, Lebron may join the likes of O.Robertson, Jordan, Chamberlain, Russell, Cousey and others. But for now, he`s just a star.

Hes up there definitely you cant argue that.
but he has allot of competition.
For one look at Magic Johnson. He wasn't as athletic, but the guy was a 6'9" and played point guard. If that isn't talented and versatile I don't know what is.
Jordan was pretty good as well.
Did any forget "Mr.Triple double", the "big O".
The guy average average a Triple double for a season !!!
