No, these aren't pop-ups that address a problem of some sort with your computer. These are automatic desktop pop-ups for messenger log ins my sister set up somehow whenever you log on. Yes, pop ups for Yahoo Messenger and AIM. These nuisances slow down the computer extremely when all I want to do is go on the Internet. How do I get them to stop automatically popping up on my desktop?

I think that if you go into the msconfig utility you should be able to turn these programs off so that they do not load with Windows. The path to is: Click Start/Run and type "msconfig" without the quotes, into the box and then click "ok". When the config utility opens, click the Start up tab and then uncheck those programs that you "do not" want to load with Windows. Now click "Apply" and then "OK". You will now be prompted to restart your machine. This should solve the problem.
