What I hate most about South Africa is that despite having the best weather, really great sports, wonderful lifestyles, excellent opportunities to do business, amazing growth potential, awesome tourist destinations, generally wonderful friendly and hardworking people---- we have such high levels of crime and apathy towards this from our leaders.
They spend more time jostling for party leadership, doing underhand deals, throwing mud at each other and racing around town at 180km/hr in their seventeen car motorcades than anything else. It's a real pity. I wish Thabo Mbeki's brother or even Tokyo had a chance to turn things around. Thabo has taken some good steps forward and put some good captains in charge of key areas (Tito, Trevor) and yet failed dismally to sort out the poor players (Doctor Beetroot springs to mind)
The things we need to focus on as priorities are improving law enforcement and punishing crime, improving education and literacy, and more affordable quality health care.
The rest will naturally fall into place.

The social and moral decay, the lame duck government that only takes care of the inner circle, the overall ignorance of the majority when it comes to poor national and local government, the poor service and incompetence of civil servants, the reverse apartheid which was awfull the first time round but being perpetrated once again, criminals rights to vote, the pathetic justice system, the police going after petty crime offenders and not targeting the serious crime offenders that pay them ie drug lords, hi- jack syndicates etc, etc, the poverty that affects the great majority of the population, unemployment, the general loss of hope.

*Crime.
*the laid back government,
* the fact that people say South Africa is soooo poor but if you drive around, you don't really see old cars on the road, *the fact that most people giving donations to South Africa they mostly give it to HIV/Aids organizations but in the meantime there are lots of hungry people, unfortunately HIV/Aids victims will die sooner or later, but hungry people you can save.
*The people in SA still blaming Apartheid.... we've moved on!
*The color issue in sports, the fact that players get places in teams for their skin color and not because they deserve it.....
* The fact that some not-white people say I stole this country from them, but in the meantime I was just born here, same as anybody else.....
