About Cherry Brown shoes and polishing?

Question

Hey there, are the colors cherry brown and Burgundy the same when it comes to shoes. Theres no labelling on the shoe or its box about what color polish to use. The guy at the store said its cherry brown but it looks almost the same as burgundy to me. Its the first shoe I bought of that color so I'm not sure if burgundy polish could be used on a cherry brown shoe. Help would be much appreciated.

PS. The store doesn't have that shoe in its online catalogue so I can't really like to it.

I think cherry brown and burgundy are probably similar to **cordovan**, which is readily available at drug stores and stores like Wal Mart and K-Mart.
