In general, I'm not a fan of remakes. If the movie was done right the first time, there's no point, and if it wasn't, then probably no one wants to bother remaking it. The only one I've ever seen that I feel exceeded the original was Night of the Living Dead, and in that case, it was remade by the original director, who chose to more deeply explore the themes of the first film.
And in this particular case, I'm even more leery. I want to like Rob Zombie's movies, I really do. But House and Rejects were just pastiches of far, far better films, trying to hide their weak, derivative scripts behind a veneer of frenetic action, spastic camera work, and ADD-style editing. I'm not looking foreward to it.

The original is a classic-possibly one the greatest movies ever made.the sequels have really been about money for sure over art but the series up to H8 has if anything been classier the then NOES or FT13th series and the movies ain't very scary or artistic but are well made entertaining cat & mouse style horror movies.
Classiest horror series ever I believe and Zombie's one of the only directors who can breath new life into it.

yes!!! the 1st "halloween" is one of my favorite movies ever!!!
i`ve seen it so many times, i can probably recite the dialogue word for word!!! in all honesty, i doubt rob zombie can top the original in my eyes, although i`m sure there will be all kinds of special effects, etc...i guess we`ll just have to wait & see!!!

My deceased brother loved the "Halloween' series, and my kid sister likes it too, as does her daughter. My oldest sister and I do not like them at all.
