Thanks for asking the question that I too have often wondered so I gave you a star! I know for a fact that my friends, family, etc. are all supporters of the President. Not to mention the last time I sat at a baseball game & overheard people sitting around me among other public venues. Clearly, the polls are media driven. Just look at the results of them before the last election. They had Bush losing overall. Please!! The everyday, common folk like you & myself in this country are the opinions that really count, not Hollyweird, media, Massachusetts or NY!

I think you may have figured something out. I sincerely wish more would.
As I have told many in the past, by careful wording and by picking those being polled carefully, I can make a pole say anything you want to hear.
Example:
Question: Do you hate blacks?
Asked at an NAACP rally and you will get one response. Asked at a gathering of Skinheads and you will get quite another.
Witness the exit poles from the 2004 Presidential. All the stops were pulled in an effort to make John Kerry an early landslide victor. IMO it was done to in an effort to bring everyone possible onto the winning "bandwagon" while simultaneously disheartening Bush supporters hoping they would adopt "what's the use, why vote" attitude.
Next time you see a survey, look at the way the questions are worded. If someone asks you, "Do you still beat your wife?", just how do you answer that and not go down in flames in the process? Some surveys are nearly that bad...
And never forget, Pollsters are hired by someone, usually someone with and agenda. If they want to be hired again, they had better produce results useful to their employers.

Most poll questions are designed to get a specific response. Almost all public polls are highly inaccurate from a scientific point of view.
They draw from a small sample (even 3000 people is a small sample when you are considering a population of around 300,000,000)
for example an approval rating of 35% with a +/- of 5% is horridly inaccurate.
with the decrease in fixed land lines and the increase in cell phone usage as the primary phone, the polls have become even more irrelevant as a large section of the populace is, by default not polled.
In addition, there is no incentive for individuals being polled to repond honestly (either over the phone, on paper, or on the web).

It's called the strategy of confusion. The complacent media and political parties attempt to make you think you have a choice. Fact is, Republicans and Democrats are interchangeable. LIberal vs Conservative is called "orchestrated oppositon". Had a Democrap been elected, the same Tri-Lateral, CFR and Elitists would have been installed into the same cabinet positions, to keep our compliance with Israel and other Elitists going.
Now this: the conservatives want a One World Government and are willing to use force; liberals want a One World Government and prefer to use trickery and politics to get it.
In the end, their GOALS ARE THE SAME.

I'm assuming by that that a poll taken solely in a red state would be that much more accurate. Polls aren't totally accurate, but they're better than a liberal talking only to liberals or conservatives doing likewise.

When was the last time you were called by a company that does the polling? They only call people who will tell them what they want to hear. By the way, I don't like Bush, but then again, I don't like my choices for president next year either, so far.

The major Media outlets only do polls in areas where they know they are going to get their desired result. Polls now a day are not reliable...how many times have you been called by a pollster to be asked your opinion...in my 33 years of life I have never been called...that is because I live in a area where CNN and MSNBC know they will not get the answer they want, so they only poll in California, Vermont, and other Liberal places...remember the same polling groups said Kerry was very popular, and we all know how that turned out...a poll a $1 will get you a coke...

He also has tons of detractors on the web. Polls are random samples of people, usually across the country in the case of presidential opinion polls. Most have his approval rating in the low to mid 30's, including "fair and balanced" Fox, so that kills your "liberal swamp" theory.

Well if you talk to people on net Bush has little support. Some pro-Bush supporters have flat out said that they vote many many times to bump up numbers, plus internet polls are not done correctly
cliftonstewart11> ok but Clinton has come closer to killing Osama than anyone else...so why is Bush's failure ok but Clinton's is not?

Polls can be manipulated to fit ones agenda, Fact : If the polls were accurate, both houses would have won by a larger margin than they did
