If you are in the know...sales or repair or have heard news programs or read the consumers reports, please respond to my question. I missed a report on this on my local news program. I think maybe the new ones are more energy efficient. Does anyone know the facts?

I have one

Pros- they use much less water and energy,

Cons- You need to buy special soap for the - the HD soap that is sorta hard to find sometimes. the cycles take a little longer to run, the doors lock after a few minutes of the cycle- so you can't add clothes after the cycle has begun
