Your laptop has integrated graphics. There is now way to slot in a graphics card there like what is usually done in desktops.
It seems that the Intel 82855 GME graphics driver was not installed. Was Windows reinstalled recently and drivers installation was not done immediately afterwards? Click start, run, the type dxdiag, press OK. Click Display tab and see if you have the graphics driver.
